Baby Massage and Baby Sensory Classes

In September Little Montessori Pundit´s is opening another section of its Montessori practice. Baby Massage courses for babies under one year old & age appropriate Baby Sensory classes.

About Me

My name is Kalpana Pandit, I am a mother of 4 children and four grandchildren. I have over 35 years of experience working with children and their families.  I have a master´s degree in education, and I am an early year´s specialist consultant, with a diploma in Montessori and Emmi Pikler 0 -6 years old.

 I have always worked in early year´s sectors, writing and implementing early year´s concepts and setting up Montessori playgroups, kindergartens and bilingual early year´s settings. Few years ago I took a career change in order to set up a Montessori sensory garden.  As part of my sensory program and births of my grandchildren where I was passing on my knowledge of baby massage, I got more curious to learn the science behind baby massage.

I have experienced first-hand the endless benefits of baby massage and it never stops surprising me how powerful this art is. Massage is so ingrained into my Hindu way of life and has been passed on from generations to massage our new born babies. 

International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) which draws on the traditions of Indian and Swedish massage, as well as the principles of Reflexology and Yoga

I became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor. Now I am an Instructor for the International Association for Infant Massage (IAIM) and DGBM e.V. Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Babymassage e.V. (DGBM) in Germany.

My week is split between baby massage, baby sensory classes and the Montessori Sensory Garden for children.

I count myself lucky to be able to do the jobs that are dear to my heart, working with children and families in early years settings and be part of their parenting journey.

September 2023 I setup my Baby Massages Classes for parents and caregivers. I run bespoke, one to one and small group classes from Little Montessori Pundit´s (LMP), or at parents home. I teach both online and face to face.

Baby massage classes are ideally taught over five weeks in order to give both the parent and the baby time to learn and accustomed to massage. IAIM baby massage classes involves many different types of touch, movement, interaction and communication. They include time for parent relaxation and informal discussions on joys and challenges of parenting. 

 

·       Classes are suitable for parents and babies up to one year of age.

·       Only parents will massage the babies, as instructor I will only demonstrate the strokes on a doll.

·       Details massage strokes handouts will be available.

 

What will the Baby Massage classes cover?

 

·       When is the best time to massage your baby

·       A short colic/gas routine

·       Gentle movements and touch relaxation

·       What massage oils to use

·       How to adapt the strokes for your baby’s individuals needs and the growing child.

·       Emphasis and focus on sensitive and enjoyable interaction between the parent/caregiver so that you gain deeper understanding of your babies behaviour, unique language and cues.

·       Cost: 75€ / 5 Classes -  the costs includes handouts and the massage oil
